Train, car collide in Bladen County | 911

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A train hit a car near Hwy. 211 West in Bladen County on Monday morning.

According to Captain Rodney Hester with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, the train and car collided near Twisted Hickory Road, in Abbottsburg.

Bradley Kinlaw with Emergency Services said, a man drove his Toyota Camry onto the train tracks and was hit. The driver appeared to have minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. It’s unclear at this time how fast the train was traveling when the incident occurred.

Emergency Services, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, the Bladen County Fire Department and Highway Patrol all reportedly responded to the accident.

Highway Patrol officials are investigating the incident. Traffic is being detoured around the area.
