Boil water advisory in effect for parts of Elizabethtown | Health

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) – A precautionary boil water advisory is currently in effect for parts of Elizabethtown, according to town officials.

The advisory, issued Wednesday, covers South Poplar Street from Swanzy Street to Dunham Street, and South Poplar Street to Mercer Mill Road at Elizabeth Street.

A water main break prompted the advisory, and workers are currently trying fix the problem as soon as possible.

The advisory is in effect until water quality testing takes place after the water main break is fixed.

WECT will update this story as necessary should the advisory be lifted.
