Library hosting Christmas program for kids

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Just in time for the holidays, the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown is hosting a children’s Christmas program Thursday, Dec. 6, according to the library’s Facebook page.

The event will include winter stories, treats and a special visitor.

The library's address is 111 North Cypress Street.

Plain View Primary School hosting fall festival

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – If you’re looking for something fun to get into this weekend, look no further than the fall festival that Plain View Primary School’s Parent Teacher Organization is hosting Friday.

It will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to the Bladen County Schools website, and it will include games, fun and food for all.

The school’s address is 1963 Chickenfoot Road in Tar Heel.

Deputy fire marshal laid to rest

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Family and friends will say their final goodbyes Monday to a deputy fire marshal who passed away last week from heart issues.

According to authorities, John McClelland Hall, 48 of Bladenboro, fell ill while responding to a house fire in the Carvers Creek Community earlier this month.

Visitation will be held at Galeed Baptist Church Monday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m.

Following the visitation, a memorial service is scheduled at Galeed Baptist Church Monday, Nov 12 at 1 p.m.

Graveside will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery across from Bladenboro Middle School on S. Main St. in Bladenboro.

Parents invited to shop with kids at book fair

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Parents are invited to visit Plain View Primary School’s book fair with their children soon, according to the Bladen County Schools website.

The fair will be open each day from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Nov. 13 – Nov. 20.

Additionally, Parent Night is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 16.

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – It’s still November, but the Bladenboro Christmas Parade is already accepting entries, according to the Bladen Journal.

The parade will take place Saturday, Dec. 1 at 10:30 a.m.

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – For just $7 a plate, you can take part in a mini-Thanksgiving dinner of sorts early.

Elizabethtown Primary School will host its annual turkey dinner fundraiser Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to the school’s website.

The event will take place in the ETP cafeteria.

Enjoy a fall festival with the family Saturday

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) – What better way to ring in autumn than with a fall festival?

Elizabethtown Church of God will be hosting one Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to event organizers. It will include a youth turkey shoot, hayrides, and more.

Additionally, a trunk-or-treat event will take place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The church is located at 1767 Hwy. 242 N.
