BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Parents are looking for answers and action for a Bladen County school.

Built in 1959, East Arcadia Elementary School has not stood the test of time. Over the years, the school has deteriorated, seeing limited improvement.

According to P.T.O. president Candice Long, county commissioner Charles Ray Peterson referred to the school as "a dump."

Other schools around the area have been granted significant funding for upgrades or in some cases, new schools.

In search for answers, parents will have a chance to voice their concerns and hopefully have their questions answered at an open forum at the school Monday evening. Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor will be attending the event and will take questions.
