BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) - High schoolers in Bladen County recently ditched paper for a personal computer after the school system recently handed out Lenovo X130e laptops to students in the county. But for students who were unable to pick up his or her laptop, Thursday, Nov. 8 will be the last distribution night at East and West Bladen high schools, according to the Bladen County Schools’ website.
Students and parents can pick up the laptop between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
In June 2012, the school system started a pilot program to test personal tablets. The purpose of the pilot was to help school officials determine which digital device would best fit the educational needs of our teachers and students.
Based on feedback and best practices from the pilot, officials were able to make a smart decision in choosing a laptop.
Students will be able to take the laptop home and keep it until the end of the school year, according to a school spokeswoman.
