BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A 61-year-old man from Clarkton was charged with cocaine possession after authorities noticed a bulge in his right sock.
Horace Drayton, of George W. Kelly Road, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine, manufacturing cocaine, felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, according to Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Captain Rodney Hester.
Officers reportedly saw Drayton driving a green Ford Explorer on Hwy. 211 East near Clarkton on Sunday evening. The law enforcement officials were aware that Drayton didn’t have a valid driver’s license, so they stopped the vehicle. When Drayton was asked to exit the vehicle, authorities noticed a bulge in his right sock that appeared to be a pill bottle, according to reports.
Inside the bottle, the Sheriff’s Office found nine bags of crack cocaine rocks. Hester said, Drayton was booked in the Bladen County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
A 27-year-old Elizabethtown man was also taken into custody during the incident.
