ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Elizabethtown Police Department and Bladen County Sheriff's Office assisted officers with the NC Probation and Parole with a warrantless search Wednesday evening, which resulted in a man and his mother being charged with drug possession.
Officers say Akeem Jamel Brown, 23, who lives in the 1000 of Martin Luther King Dr., is on probation for a felony conviction of fleeing to elude arrest and is subject to warrantless searches.
During the warrantless search, officers located 1.5 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana inside the residence. Officers took Brown into custody, secured the residence and obtained a search warrant for the premises.
