BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Gangs are still a problem in Bladen County, but it looks like the violence is decreasing, according to Elizabethtown Police Chief Robert Kinlaw.
“It’s a pretty big issue because the community as a whole and the governmental leaders all got together to put things into place to help combat the gang issues,” Kinlaw said. “That, along with law enforcement and prosecutors working to combat the gang issues, has pretty much beaten it back to the point where it’s manageable.”
He said there are still gangs present but the number of violent crimes has decreased over the past three years.
