DUBLIN, NC (WECT) – Folks can safely get rid of any unwanted prescription medicine soon at the Dublin Peanut Festival, to be held Sept. 15., according to a news release from sheriff's officials.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, along with the county health department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, will have a tent available for people to take the unwanted drugs to.
The service is free, and those dropping of the medicine will remain anonymous with no questions asked.
Last year alone, 377,080 pounds of prescription drugs were disposed of in America at 5,300 sites operated by the DEA and its law enforcement partners.
