Two bills introduced that would stop Bladen Co. annexations

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – State Representative William Brisson introduced two bills into the General Assembly that would stop two separate annexations in Bladen County.

The Hayfield subdivision and the Industrial Park area were both involuntarily annexed last year by Elizabethtown. These two areas were not included in other bills that are currently being heard in the House of Representatives that would stop annexation, including areas like Monkey Junction.

If the bills are successful, they would immediately stop the annexation and the town would have to wait 12 years to try again.
