Verbal decision made about voting protests in Bladen Co.

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Bladen County Board of Elections met with protesters Thursday morning to discuss allegations made about votes being bought.

Robert Brooks, who came up short in the race for county commissioner, questioned some absentee ballots. He said many of those ballots were all voted on the same way.

Ray Britt, a member of the Board of Elections, said that when they met on Thursday, a verbal decision was made. But the Board has until 5 p.m. on Friday to announce that decision.

After the announcement, the Board will have five days to write up its findings of fact and conclusion of law before submitting it to Raleigh.

Brooks is not the only person to file a complaint. Two other candidates have also filed complaints.
