BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A Bladen County man recently pleaded guilty to kidnapping, according to a news release from the office of District Attorney Jon David.
Craig D. George of Council, NC pleaded guilty Monday to first degree kidnapping in Bladen County Superior Court.
According to the news release, his plea came after he abducted a former girlfriend from a grocery store in Lisbon in November 2009 by forcing her into a vehicle, driving to his grandmother’s home and sexually and physically assaulted her before stealing her car and fleeing the area.
A few weeks after the incident, George was arrested in Charlotte.
As a result of his plea, George was sentenced to a minimum of eight years in prison and maximum of a little more than 10 and a half years.
