BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two out-of-towners were arrested during a driver’s license checkpoint near Tar Heel around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday.

A black 2002 Infinite approached the checkpoint and deputies could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to Captain Rodney Hester with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

When the vehicle was searched, deputies reportedly found a set of digital scales and three individually packed bags of marijuana. Percocet and ecstasy pills were also found, Hester said.

The following arrests were made:

  • Caldwell Blanks Jr., 29, of Wake Forest, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the Bladen County Jail after posting a $5,750 secured bond.
  • Harold Thomas Parker III, 26, of Durham, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, and felony possession of a controlled substance. Parker was still in the Bladen County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond at the time of this post.
