BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Two men face drug charges following a traffic stop in Bladen County, according to a spokesperson for the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.
Oliver Arrendondo, 22, of Fayetteville has been charged with trafficking opium or heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule VI controlled substance, manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additionally, Joshua Watkins, 22, of Fayetteville has been charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance, manufacture marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, a Bladen County Deputy on routine patrol saw a white Chevrolet truck near Hwy. 20 with a taillight out. The truck was stopped, and deputies noticed a smell of marijuana.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found 19 bags of marijuana that was packaged for sale, a set of digital scales, 14 Percocet pills in Arrendondo’s pocket, and $150 in counterfeit money.
Arrendondo remains in jail under a $20,500 bond, while Watkins posted his bond of $8,000.
The Secret Service has been contacted about the counterfeit money.
